The strategic direction taken by the Group together with its demonstrated commitment to sustainability issues has resulted in many awards and distinctions. During 2009, we received several expressions of recognition:

- Fiat SpA received special mention as SAM GOLD CLASS and SAM SECTOR MOVER 

- The Fiat Group's sustainability website was named Best Improver in Italy at the CSR Online Awards

- For the Arvore da Vida project in Brazil, Fiat was recognised as best company for socially and environmentally responsible management

- Fiat eco:Drive received the "Green Champion" accolade at the International Green Apple Awards. In 2010 followed the "Best Green Development" award, assigned by the English web magazine BusinessCar.

- The innovative ABS Supersteer™ system, developed by New Holland Agriculture, was awarded the Silver Medal for Innovation at Agritechnica 2009 , Europe's biggest exhibition of agricultural machinery 

- The Iveco Daily CNG was named Green Van of the Year 2009 by a prestigious UK trade magazine and the Daily Electric won the award for best commercial vehicle at eCarTec, the International Trade Fair for Electric Mobility in Munich 

- Fiat SpA enters Dow Jones World and STOXX Sustainability Indexes 

- As part of the World Class Manufacturing programme, two Fiat Group Automobiles plants reached Silver Level certification: Melfi in Italy and Tychy in Poland 

- At the SIMA Innovation Awards 2009, New Holland Agriculture won a gold medal for the NH ² hydrogen-powered tractor and a silver medal for the advanced EasyDrive transmission
